New Delhi, August 9th 2016, Carna Medical Database held a book launch ceremony of the first edition of the medical product catalogue at The Lalit New Delhi. The book launch was attended by approximately 100 guests including parent companies' staff, japan embassy delegates, medical manufacturers, doctors, media and business partners. The catalogue was unveiled by Mr. Tadahiko Konoike – President of Konoike Transport Japan, Mr. Kenji Aya- First Secretary Embassy of Japan, Mr. Minoru Amano, CEO & MD Carna Medical Database, Mr. Bharat Kaushal, Chairman in India, SMBC Bank and Mr. Vinod Juneja, Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Member, National Executive Committee FICCI.
The medical product catalogue contains detailed information about medical consumables, disposables, and implants, it serves as a solution to streamline the supply chain management process and offers a wide variety of equipment to choose from. The catalogue is the first step to the future of a digitalized Indian healthcare sector.
Mr. Tadahiko Konoike, President at Konoike Transport Co. Ltd. (parent company to Carna), in his opening speech said, “The publication of this medical product catalogue is the first step, in developing a standard code for medical material. Through this, we hope to support digitization, in the medical industry, which would further help, reduce shortages and mistakes in hospitals. This refers, to creating mechanisms to eliminate ordering error, and excess inventory. We will continue, to contribute to the improvement, of safety and quality, in the healthcare industry.”
Speaking on the launch ceremony, Executive Director of Konoike Transport Co. Ltd. And Managing Director of Carna Medical Database Mr. Minoru Amano said, “Our objective is to deliver services to hospitals, medical manufacturers and medical distributors by providing them eight levels of classification and a unique coding system for each medical product. This database incorporates detailed information about all the consumables, disposables and implants available at a single search enabled and interactive platform.”
The product is the first-of-its kind, launched ever in the country and will be distributed Pan India to over 8000 hospitals. It will reach hospitals in tier 2 and tier 3 cities as well. The catalogue will be an annual release and it is expected to grow aggressively in the near future.
